Michael Brown, a dedicated member of the Dr Pepper Museum’s Advisory Board, has supported the museum’s growth and impact over the last 14 years. We had the opportunity to sit down with Michael to learn more about his journey with the museum, his thoughts on its evolution, and why he encourages others to get involved.
Q: What made you decide to join the board?
A: As a young professional (back then), I wanted to find a local organization where I could invest my time and skills as a way to give back to the Waco community. I’ve always loved the Waco story of Dr Pepper and its strong local identity, which made the museum a perfect fit for me.
Q: How have you seen the museum evolve during your time on the board, and what role do you think donor support has played in that growth?
A: The museum has completely transformed over the time I’ve been involved. It has elevated into a higher class of museum, community resource, and attraction. This evolution is the result of great leadership, a committed board, and strong donor support. Without donor contributions, none of this growth would have been possible.
Q: What would you say to encourage others to invest in the museum’s future and support its continued impact on the community?
A: I think others should not hesitate to invest their time, skills, and financial resources in the Dr Pepper Museum. It’s a high-quality organization that serves as a tremendous asset to our community. Supporting the museum means contributing to an institution that not only preserves history but also creates meaningful experiences for people of all ages.
Michael’s dedication to the Dr Pepper Museum exemplifies how impactful volunteerism and financial support can be. If his story inspires you, we invite you to learn more about how you can contribute to the museum’s mission and its bright future.
