Waco, TX – The Dr Pepper Museum is proud to announce that its President and CEO, Chris Dyer, is recognized as the 2024 Outstanding Fundraising Professional Award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). He was recognized at the National Philanthropy Day Luncheon on Wednesday, November 13. This annual event honors remarkable philanthropic contributions within the Central Texas community.
Since taking on his leadership role, Dyer has been instrumental in elevating the Dr Pepper Museum as a cultural and educational landmark in Waco. Under his guidance, the Museum has doubled its revenue and endowment, launched significant historic preservation projects, and is nearing the completion of a $1.3 million collections storage renovation project. With more than 3 million visitors attracted to the Museum’s campus of historic buildings and the world’s most extensive soft drink memorabilia collection, Dyer’s contributions have amplified both the Museum’s impact and its reach.
The Museum’s 80,000 square feet of historic campus, a year-round attraction, has gained recognition thanks to Dyer’s effective and innovative fundraising strategies, benefiting from support through grants, partnerships, and donations.

We educate, inspire, and entertain by sharing the stories of Dr Pepper and the soft drink industry. Housed in the historic Artesian Manufacturing & Bottling Company and Kellum-Rotan Buildings, the Museum is the largest cultural destination in Waco and the Original Home of the Dr Pepper Float.
