“Here is what I titled “Early Partners in Dr Pepper”
I have always enjoyed collecting old Drug store bottles and love these from the Old Corner Drug Store in Waco, Texas. A few items in this collection include Early 1880s Castles & Morison Old Corner Drug Store, Waco, Texas, dose glass and drug store bottles with Cameron, Castles & Story letterhead. During the early 1880s, Wade Morrison moved to Waco to become a partner with J.W. Castles of Castle and Company. The business was so successful Mr. Morrison soon became sole proprietor and hired Charles Alderton, pharmacist, to operate as Morrison’s Old Corner Drugstore. In 1886, J. W. Castles partnered with another prominent businessman in Waco, Mr. William Cameron, as Wholesale Grocers and Drug Dealers. See Cameron, Castles, & Story letterhead written seven months after the Dr. Pepper formula was patented. During these years Mr. Cameron operated a very successful wholesale and retail lumber business in Waco. Like Morrison, Cameron remains a well-known name in Texas for the city park named in his memory, Cameron Park and Zoo.”
