At the Dr Pepper Museum, we are fortunate to have a community of passionate supporters who help us preserve and share the rich history of America’s favorite soft drink. This month, we’re excited to shine our Supporter Spotlight on Ansuya Abnoussi, who has been part of the Museum’s board since January 2023. Join us as we celebrate her contributions and explore what inspires her dedication to our mission!
Q1: What made you decide to join the board?
Ansuya: I had the honor of being invited to submit my application for the Board by a then Board Member. After an insightful conversation with Chris, President & CEO, who passionately shared the goals and responsibilities of being a board member, I knew I wanted to be part of this journey. The opportunity to contribute to the museum’s mission and join such a dedicated team has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in recent years. I am constantly learning and growing from having a seat at this table!
Q2: How have you seen the museum evolve during your time on the board, and what role do you think donor support has played in that growth?
Ansuya: Witnessing the Dr Pepper Museum continuously grow its mark not only with the influx of visitors to Waco, but also within our local community has been an absolute pleasure.
Chris Dyer, our incredible President & CEO, and the rest of the stellar staff make the hard work look easy and have tirelessly brought new exhibits, revamped spaces, and increased DPM’s involvement within our community. From educational scholarships to Baylor University’s Dr Pepper Hour, and even enhancing our mobility with the Dr Pepper soda trailer and a simpler, more efficient menu, it’s been truly efficient and engaging.
Our visitors aren’t just strolling through history anymore; but they’re actively experiencing it with our interactive activities of Make-A-Soda. Our current Brick Campaign has also been a great success, offering the public a unique chance to secure a special place in our courtyard and become part of our history while supporting the museum.
And I cannot emphasize enough how donor support is always the icing on the cake! The generosity enables us to expand, innovate, and thrive. Donors’ contributions are the effervescent force behind the evolution of the museum.
Q3: What would you say to encourage others to invest in the museum’s future and support its continued impact on the community?
Ansuya: Investing in the Dr Pepper Museum goes beyond supporting a beloved local institution; it’s about nurturing a piece of history that holds a sweet spot in many hearts. By contributing, you help in preserving a rich legacy that educates, entertains, and inspires countless visitors.
