Homeschool Day

Monday, February 23, 2026

Registration now open!

Homeschoolers and their families are invited to the Museum for a special day dedicated all to them! Families attending Homeschool Day will receive discounted admission pricing and have an opportunity to participate in dedicated programs!

This Month’s Theme:

The AMBC Building Turns 120!

To celebrate the AMBC building, our February Homeschool Day is themed all around our building and its architecture. Join us in learning about the history of our building and participating in some fun activities!

Located at the corner of 5th Street and Mary Avenue in the turn of the 20th century manufacturing district, the Artesian Manufacturing and Bottling Company opened their new state of the art bottling facility in 1906. After being used as a factory until the mid 1960s, the facility was shut down. The building then fell into a state of disrepair until a group of like-minded Wacoans, with the support of the Dr Pepper Company, decided to renovate the AMBC building to open a Dr Pepper Museum!

What is included in my Homeschool Day ticket?

  • Each Homeschool Day admission ticket includes access to the Artesian Manufacturing and Bottling Company (AMBC) and Kellum-Rotan (KR) Buildings for a self-guided tour through the Museum and a $1 off coupon for the soda fountain.
  • Access to all of our Homeschool Day themed programming!

Optional Add-Ons:

We recommend purchasing optional add-ons in advance as only a limited supply will be available for purchase onsite.
  • Little Peppers Book – $5 each
    • Little Peppers Books provide additional engagement opportunities for children as they explore the Museum. Some activities include a scavenger hunt list and soda recipe creation!
  • Themed Goody Bag – $5 each
    • An exclusive themed goody bag only available for Homeschool Day!
    • Consists of one DPM Carpenter Pencil, one 1oz bag of Jelly Belly Dr Pepper jelly beans, one AMBC Building Sticker, and one AMBC Pressed Penny.

Frequently Asked Questions about DPM Homeschool Day

Do I have to register my group in advance?

Advanced registration is required.

Is there a limit on group size?

We welcome families and groups of all sizes!

Each member of the group must have a ticket to enter the Museum and participate in the offered programs.

When should I arrive?

Please arrive as close to your scheduled arrival time as possible.

Entry is not guaranteed for early or late arrivals.

Where do I check in?

At the Homeschool Day Table located in the admissions lobby of the AMBC Building.

Where do we park?

Cars may park in the paid Museum parking lot off of 5th Street for $10.50 per car per 5 hours or find free street parking surrounding the museum.

Cars should not park in the lots of surrounding businesses as they will be subject to their respective fees and towing policies.

The Museum does not have bus or large vehicle parking available for guests.

What about student behavior?

We ask that students maintain classroom behavior while visiting the museum for their safety and the safety of other guests. Chaperones MUST stay with students of all ages at all times.

Does the Museum have a space where we can eat lunch?

There are two sets of 6ft picnic tables inside the Courtyard, a set of 4 (uncovered) and a set of 8 (covered). These spaces are open to the public, so they are not reservable for individual groups. Groups are more than welcome to eat lunch onsite, but they are not guaranteed space.

Picnic lunches and coolers are allowed in the Courtyard. The Museum does not store coolers for groups.

Is Make-A-Soda an add-on for Homeschool Day?

While Make-A-Soda will not be offered as an additional add-on for Homeschool Day, families and groups are welcome to book a Make-A-Soda Experience through the Museum’s website.

We recommend purchasing your Homeschool Day admission tickets before booking a Make-A-Soda Experience.

If you would like to change your arrival time, we will do our best to accommodate you, but we cannot guarantee availability.
