Do you remember the Dr Pepper’s iconic Frosty Dog? What about 7UP’s Fresh Up Freddie? From playful dogs to mythical creatures, animals have played the main protagonists in the soda industry marketing campaigns. Now, they’re taking center stage at the Dr Pepper Museum’s newest exhibit!
The Dr Pepper Museum is excited to announce the public opening of its newest bilingual exhibit, Wildly Refreshing: The Animal Appeal in Soda Advertising,/ Salvajemente Refrescante: La Atracción de los Animales en la Publicidad de Refrescos, a learning experience into the world where animals, branding, and pop culture collide.
Opening to the public on Friday, May 23, “Wildly Refreshing” explores how animals have been used for decades to sell some of America’s favorite beverages. The exhibit features a mix of vintage advertisements created by Dr Pepper and other soda companies, collectible memorabilia and a chance for visitors to view some of the commercials of the mascot’s featured in the exhibit. Visitors will learn about the fascinating ways advertisers have used animal mascots to create emotional connections and promote products in a fun and meaningful way!
We hope to have you all wildly refreshed this summer at the Dr Pepper Museum’s newest exhibit!
