Meet the Nominees

Dexter Hall

28-year Wells Fargo veteran, Dexter R. Hall currently serves as Regional Banking District Manager in Wells Fargo’s Texas Region covering the Waco Brazos Valley Market. Hall currently leads all locations here in Waco stretching towards Hillsboro, Fairfield, and Centerville responsible over 80 team members and over $896 million dollars of assets under management not including property.  In this capacity, Dexter leads a team financial professionals and partners in creating value added partnerships helping clients to succeed financially. Hall leads Wells Fargo’s community efforts in his market place helping to the economic development needs of under-served and under-resourced communities with a focus on affordable housing, small business development, workforce development, and financial education.

Jake Johnson

Jake Johnson is a lifelong Wacoan (and Dr Pepper drinker!), having gone to China Spring ISD from Kindergarten through high school.  After graduating from China Spring her attended Baylor, where he graduated with degrees in Accounting, Finance, and Real Estate as well as earning his CPA designation.

After Baylor he worked in finance-related positions at Genco Federal Credit Union and Baylor Scott & White Medical until he began working at Integ as the Corporate Controller in 2014.

Gary Luft

Gary W. Luft is a lifelong Waco resident, who was born, raised, and educated in Waco, Texas.

Gary is in his 13th year as Director of Health and Human Services for the Heart of Texas Council of Governments (HOTCOG).  His prior working career includes serving 13 years as Assistant Vice President and Business Manager at Baylor University; 6 years as Vice President of Business Services at McLennan Community College; 7 years as National Director of Educational Markets for VarTec Telecom, Inc.; and 8 years as the Chief Fiscal Officer for District 9 of TxDOT.

Gary Myles

Gary Myles is the Director of Emergency Services Education and Criminal Justice at McLennan Community College. Mr. Myles is a graduate from Northwestern University’s School of Police Command, Evanston, Illinois. He studied at Southern University Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and earned an A.S. Degree from Hill College, Hillsboro, TX. He earned a B.A. Degree from the Minnesota Graduate School of Theology, and a B.A.A.S. Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Tarleton State University. He is an Air Force veteran and has been recognized many times throughout his law enforcement and military terms.
