Executive Director Jack N. McKinney has announced changes to the museum’s schedule of operations for 2015. The Dr Pepper Museum will be closed on several Mondays during the upcoming year. The Museum will be closed on Mondays from January 12, 2015 through Monday, March 2, 2015. Monday operations for the public will resume on Monday, March 9, 2015 and continue through the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 7, 2015. The Museum will again be closed on Mondays from September 14, 2015 through Monday, November 16, 2015.
The Dr Pepper Museum has previously been closed only four days each year. New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
“The decision to close on several Mondays during 2015 was carefully considered,” stated Mr. McKinney. “Those two segments of the year both reflect very low visitor attendance and sales. The museum was operating at below breakeven on those days. Staff will make maximum use of this time for cleaning, maintenance and repairs to the facility. In addition, we will continue to schedule and accommodate the Free Enterprise Institute’s educational programming on those Mondays. Those programs can be presented without additional staffing costs.”
At its October 30, 2014, meeting the Board of Directors approved the 2015 budget that increased the admission price for Seniors and Military to $7.00. This increase will take effect on Friday, January 2, 2015.
