What is in the food we eat? Are fruits and vegetables important? Can everyday activities burn calories? Families, children and school groups will find the answers to these questions by exploring the worlds of nutrition and fitness in Eat Well, Play Well, a new, bilingual (English/Spanish) hands-on science exhibit which examines healthy living strategies by teaching the science of making healthy food choices and helping children and adults discover that there are many fun and interesting ways to stay active. Children and families engage with nine highly interactive areas which encourage the discovery that healthy choices are within their reach!
The Dr Pepper Museum & Free Enterprise Institute is excited to host Eat Well, Play Well for the summer of 2018. The exhibit is located on the second floor of the AMBC Building and is included with regular admission to the Museum.
There are several events already on the calendar in conjunction with Eat Well, Play Well, with more sure to come!
Eat Well, Play Well was produced and is toured by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) in Portland, Ore. This exhibit was made possible by a Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Administrative Supplement from the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR), a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
