Weekend Customer Service Manager

The Dr Pepper Museum invites applications for one part-time position as Weekend Customer Service Manager.  The candidate must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma.  Enrollment in an instutuion of higher learning is preferred.  An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted, as long as it directly relates to the essential duties and responsibilities.  The Dr Pepper Museum is located in the original Dr Pepper bottling plant in downtown Waco.  It includes a gift shop, old fashioned soda fountain and three floors of exhibits representing the most comprehensive collection of soft drink industry memorabilia in the world.

The selected candidate will have good customer service and organization skills and demonstrate a high level of responsibility and problem solving skills, as they will be directly involved with maintaining customer service with the public, as well as maintaining the facility in the absence of the senior staff.  The candidate must also demonstrate the ability to maintain cash and building security procedures.  The position requires that the candidate be available to work specifically on weekends, some nights (for special events) and some weekdays as a fill in manager on holidays.  A moderate amount of physical exertion is required, including but not limited to lifting.  The starting salary will be dependant on experience.

Collections Associate

The Dr Pepper Museum invites applications for two part-time positions as Collections Associate.  Some previous collections training or experience is required, and a degree in Museum Studies is preferred.  The Dr Pepper Museum’s collections are housed in the historic Kellum-Rotan building in downtown Waco and constitute the most comprehensive collection of soft drink industry memorabilia in the world.

The selected candidates will have good organizational skills and demonstrate a high level of responsibility as they participate in the physical and digital organization of select portions of the collections.  This position requires a moderate amount of physical exertion including, but not limited to, moving pallets, operating a pallet jack and a freight elevator, picking up/lifting boxes, and opening large overhead doors.  Qualifications include knowledge of proper museum object care and handling and museum database software.  The starting salary is $8.00 an hour.
