Temporary Exhibit -- Birth of a Brand
In 1885, a pharmacist in the heart of Texas began looking for
that perfect combination of fruit and nut flavors. A little of this,
a little of that. Test after test. He blended and mixed. Customers
offered opinions. His employer offered assistance. Finally he had it!
It took 23 flavors to create just the right blend! Customers began
asking for that unique Waco creation. They couldn’t get it anywhere
else! His employer saw potential, gave it the name Dr Pepper, and a
new soft drink brand was born.
Today, trace Dr Pepper’s early years as it started in the Old Corner
Drugstore and grew to a national soft drink brand.
